County Junior Netball League Covid Update

Welcome back to the restart of CJNL games, albeit still modified game play, friendly matches and following COVID19 guidance. All the details are on the new and revamped CJNL website www.cjnl.co.uk   The CJNL information can be found on the webpage along with the first copy of the newsletter

As all procedures and policies were in place before the last lock down, the return to play remains the same. A brief resume is below FAO parents/players;

  • Face masks must be worn as players/officials leave their vehicles until they take to court. The courts at King’s only have 1 way in/out, The Grange have an entrance and an exit. Please ensure that all players are out of courts before you enter.
  • Players to be in possession of personal hand sanitisers
  • All Clubs to adhere to the CJNL COVID guidance ESPECIALLY THE LAST PAGE, PLEASE MAKE ALL PARENTS AWARE.
  • The score sheet allows for the maximum numbers per team but in order to keep the numbers low some of the official roles can be doubled up e.g. scorer can be one of the subs, primary carer can be TM, maybe only take 1 sub etc. Score sheets are not required to be signed. As normal a digital copy to be sent to cjnlresults@gmail.com
  • A copy also to be sent to  covidofficer@cjnl.co.uk as the score sheet is CJNL track & trace document. Clubs are responsible to enforce their COVID19 guidance whilst at the same time adhering to CJNL guidance. Any positive COVID tests are to be reported to covidofficer@cjnl.co.uk so the opposing team can be informed.
  • As games are outside and subject to the weather, there will be weather watchers. ONLY if the weather is unsuitable to play will a message be sent via the CJNL WhatsApp (Clubs point of contact are responsible to cascade it down to their players/parents). If no message is sent by 8.45am all games are on.

Covid Officer Update: Spectators

We continue to listen to your feedback and have seen and heard several queries around the government guidance in relation to spectators.

We wanted to clarify this for you to ensure you feel supported and reassured that your netball activity is providing the safest possible environment for participants.

There are differences in the guidance for activity taking place on public and private land which could be causing some confusion.

Private land (lots of netball takes place here) – spectators are not permitted other than in exceptional circumstances, such as adults who are required to provide care or assistance to a person with a disability or additional specific needs. As it is private land people shouldn’t ‘happen’ to just be there so therefore should not be anyone other than those involved in the activity present.

Public land (often lots of sports like football and rugby takes place here) – it is understood that there may be others using the land who are able to ‘view’ the activity taking place in groups of no more than six or two households. It is not expected that sports organisations ask people to move on from public land.

Public land includes places like parks and open spaces whereas private land includes school sites and leisure facilities.

In either case (public or private), sports organisations should not be encouraging people to spectate or view.

New guidelines

There was both good and bad news this week for netball following the Tier implementation on the 2nd December 2020. After initially not allowing travel between Tiers for under 18s England Netball have now released further guidelines allowing this to happen.

Please see the attached link which details all the information:
https://www.englandnetball.co.uk/about/covid-19-support/latest-community-netball-across-government-tiers/

AJNC Risk Assessment and Club Mitigation Plan will be updated accordingly to reflect these new guidelines and will then be posted

Thank you

We will update members via this page as and when this directive alters. The league matches are scheduled to restart during the first weekend of December.

We are liaising with Warrington league and England netball to establish our position based on ever changing tier 3 guidance and again suggest you watch this space. The covid waiver forms are a requirement to play.

Stay safe.
