Altrincham Junior Netball Club is a thriving local netball club which has grown significantly since its establishment in 2015. Playing in competitive local leagues, North West and National tournaments. it has both participation and performance in all but our youngest age groups. Altrincham Junior Netball Club currently has 34 teams and offers the opportunity to participate from the age of 7 to 18 (years 3-13).

The development plan focusing on participation for the first four years of the club was met by managing to secure over 200 girls training and playing matches on a weekly basis. From 2020 onwards, we committed to maintaining participation whilst developing a competitive performance tier; challenging our current and new players to compete with the best in Cheshire and beyond.

Now with over 350 members, we strive to improve our standing in both county and regional competitions whilst encouraging fun, enthusiasm and fantastic spirit across all squads, as we continue to establish our Development tier and a stronger more competitive Performance tier allowing all squads to compete well against other clubs.    

 All squad coaches are Level 2 qualified and affiliated to England Netball, with all of them also involved in coaching at adult clubs; schools, colleges and/or universities. We are constantly looking to expand our coaching abilities and have a Junior Coaching Programme in place to support this, as well as supporting members to achieve their Duke of Edinburgh awards, and umpire qualifications.

Our focus is on the development of our young athletes to afford them the best opportunity of achieving their true potential within the sport. We are also conscious of the benefits sport offers girls of all sporting abilities and value the importance of maintaining a sporting interest at whatever level of netball they wish to participate in.

With members starting from school Year 3 (u8s) and staying with us up to and including Year 13, we have teams playing in Warrington, Bury and Oldham Ball Hall leagues, as well as Performance teams representing the club in the Cheshire and Greater Manchester County Leagues.  In 2023, success at Cheshire County afforded our u14s the opportunity to compete at regional level, a first for the club.  We also enter  a variety of tournaments and national competitions with  members also having the opportunity to attend weekend and overnight events during their time with the club.  These opportunities allow the girls to gain a level of independence and to develop their team relationships while at the same time demonstrating their skills on court.

The club Is delighted to have members  selected for Cheshire and Greater Manchester County Netball Academies, Manchester Thunder Performance Pathway, Elite Netball Academies and international call ups to Northern Ireland.  Our aspirations are to encourage, develop and support all of our members to be the best that they can be.  Whether that means playing regularly at a local Ball Hall or travelling further afield to  satisfy their personal aspirations, we want to be part of their successes now and in the future.
